Harris campaign launches second TV ad featuring Hadley Duvall, reproductive rights advocate and rape survivor

Hadley Duvall, a reproductive rights advocate and rape survivor who has appeared in a number of high-profile campaign advertisements, appeared in a new ad for Kamala Harris' presidential campaign on Thursday.

Duvall tells her story and criticizes restrictions on abortion in the new ad, directly blaming former President Donald Trump and stating, "Trump did this."

“My stepfather began sexually abusing me when I was five years old, and he got me pregnant when I was 12 years old. In states with complete abortion bans, 64,000 rape-related births have occurred, and Trump did this, Duvall claims in the new spot. Girls and women need to be able to choose. We do with Kamala Harris."

Some context: Duvall became well-known during the 2023 Kentucky gubernatorial race when she appeared in a striking advertisement that went viral for Democratic Gov. Andy Beshear's reelection campaign. Since then, she has become an influential figure as Democrats have focused their campaigns on abortion rights.

Harris' campaign released its first advertisement featuring Duvall in September. Since then, it has spent more than $660,000 to air it in all of the key swing states. The new advertisement began airing for the first time this morning in Wisconsin. It has approximately $30,000 in funding, but no additional targeting information is currently available.
